What is your life built on?

“For me to live is Christ, to die is gain” Philippians 1:21

I love these words written by Paul. I used to be most impacted by the second half of that verse, “to die is gain”, because I found peace in Paul’s perspective as he faced the possibility of death. That he found comfort in the hope of eternity. But now, I cling to that first part, “for me to live is Christ”. For Paul, Life = Christ. He built his life upon Jesus. And that’s how I want to live, like my life is only Christ. To build everything upon Him because he is faithful, steadfast, trustworthy. Allowing my life to equal anything other than Jesus is vain. Empty. Unfulfilled. Directionless. Unstable. Grateful for the fullness of life granted in a life built upon the Rock.
