3 states where I love to camp!

I love camping! Doesn’t matter whether it is car camping or tent camping—being outside camping in nature is one of my favorite things!

Here are three states I really enjoy to camp in!

1.) California

I’m most familiar with Northern California, and that is where I really enjoy camping! It’s so diverse! There are mountains, the ocean, waterfalls, lakes!

Burney Falls is one of my favorite places to stay in a designated campground. You do have to pay to camp here (I believe it was about $35.00), but it is so worth it! There are bathrooms and dogs are allowed in the campground (not on trails to the falls).

I also really enjoy camping near Crescent City, CA for more of a beach-vibe, or around Mount Shasta for mountain views 😍

2.) Oregon

Oregon is my home-state, so naturally I LOVE camping here! I could talk your ear off about camping in Oregon, but a lesser-known area of the state that I really enjoy camping at is Eastern Oregon! It’s further out and more remote, so it’s definitely commitment getting out there… but it is so peaceful! There are many cool rock formations and lots of free camping that is first-come-first-serve! One of my favorite campgrounds is Slocum Creek Campground - and there are about ten campsites here. There are pit toilets too.

I also really like camping out at the Alvord Desert or by many of the lakes along the Cascade Lakes Highway!

3.) Idaho

I visited Idaho for the first time a few years back, and ever since I’ve been itching to get back! I camped in Stanley and we found free camping using the app iOverlander. Stanley is beyond lovely. There are so many hot springs to check out and the views of the Sawtooth Mountains are insane! 🤯
