Hi, lemonbabes 🍋!

Good to back to talk about financial habits that I’ve learned from my mistakes.

Sometimes in life you know we hit that toxic phase in terms of financial right? So, I went through that but I learned from it too.

Therefore I’m sharing this habits with you guys and stay away from this toxic habits ya!

1. Impulsive Buying 😭

You know when I was little 🐣 I didn’t get to buy what I wanted back then. So, I became impulsive buyer after I earned my own money! I started to buy things without things, shopping at H&M, online shopping without planning in advance.

I let myself buy things without thinking 🤔 sometimes especially when I called it "shopping therapy time" 🤪 but sometimes it’s okay to reward yourself but not everyday tho ‼️.

2. Neglecting Budgeting

Okay, this part I would say that I’m expert 👩🏻‍🏫 about it. My mother knows me well about this. I know how to separate my money and what it’s for, which bank 🏦 should I put it and how I invest and savings everything la.

That’s why I would say that my mother is not really worry about my monthly budgeting, what I need to pay at university like field trips, printing assignment reports, etc.

You guys should download MAE 🏦 (Maybank) to see your spending and savings! It’s really a gr8 bank to me!

3. Relying Solely on Loans

I see some friends that rely 100 percent on their loans at first, I couldn’t relate to it because I didn’t take any loans for my studies. So, I didn’t know details about loans like MARA or PTPTN but then when I started my degree.

I asked around like how much 🤨 they were given from PTPTN every month then that’s when I know PTPTN give them every month allowance and once it was banked in to students account it will automatically deduct 😅 for your student fees which is good to me but I was shocked about the amount tho!

So, that’s why I believe they shouldn’t rely 💯 percent on loans and try to figure something out because at the end of our studies we are the one that need ti pay it back!

4. Ignoring Financial Literacy 💸

For this, I would say not just me but many students actually ignore it!

I would say before I reached 20 years old I failed 😣 to educate myself about investment 📈 & how I can start investing all that 😮‍💨 but you know, my boyfriend actually taught me a lot about it!

He teach and explained to me without making me feel like a dumb person. My sister also shared with me some articles about investing and how can I start.

That’s how I started to read about investments, savings and eventually I get addicted to it because I keep buying new financial books 😅.

5. Living Behind My Means

I would say when you go to classes as a fashionable person I will look through other person outfits. What brands they wear, how much it cost, etc.

Sometimes I have that habit of wanting something that person has because I feel like I can slayyy that look too! So, back to point number 1 that’s what I do 😭

So, I tell you guys to avoid it ‼️ You don’t have to feel like you’re left behind just because you want to keep up with that extravagant lifestyle that other students in university.

I hope you guys take this tips seriously 🥹 because I don’t want you guys to have this TOXIC HABITS!

That’s all as for today, ttyl 😘.

Love, Adlina 💌
