How I met my husband on a dating app🤳🏻

Hello Lemon8 peeps!

Just wanna share my experience using a dating app and also how I met my husband!

I have been using dating app since 2017. Many dating apps have evolved around over the years. I previously used Tinder, Coffee Meets Bagel, Bumble and OkCupid app.

So I swipe and met my husband in Jan 2019 on OkCupid app!

He was actually going to delete the app, I was the last person that he was talking to back then. We moved to telegram after chatting awhile in the app. Shortly after, we decided to meet up.

The first meet-up was such a pleasant experience and we hit off quite well. He even walk me back home cos there wasn’t any more buses 😅

We met up subsequently and naturally we fall in love with each other 🥰 Thus, we decided to take a step further by being in a relationship.

After 3 yrs of dating, we decided to get married and here we are married for about a year 🥰

Wanna share some tips on using dating app(based on my own personal experience):

❣️Set your own boundaries

I think it’s impt to set your own personal boundaries. As we do not know what the other party might try to do. So maybe like no touching on your first date or don’t let your date send u home.

❣️Set realistic expectations

We meet different ppl on dating app and each of us have certain purpose why we go on dating app. Some just wanna have a fling, some want to find a partner, some just want to find friends.

By knowing your purpose of using the app, set realistic expectations before meeting your date. There are certain expectations that you will bring to your date like example expect him to pay for dates. Be prepared to go Dutch.

Or another example is the photos on the app and the person you meet might turn out differently 🙈

❣️Ghosting is very common!

I serious hate ppl who ghost LOL. Talk for a period of time, then suddenly MIA. 😑

I talk to many dates, many of them ghosted me. To me ghosting, is just very rude . Why cannot be polite and just say I am not interested. 🙄

It’s like if you suddenly was talking to ur friend on one topic, then he/she don’t reply your texts for many days/mths. Then you must be thinking what happen to him/her. Maybe you found out from your mutual friend, then he/she suddenly not interested in being friends with u.

It’s the same thing!

I think it still boil down to character of the person.

❣️Going for a first date will not guarantee a second date

I met quite a few dates for first dates and not we hit off quite well. Was planning for second dates, but didn’t happen lol cos got ghosted😑

Anyway, also back to the point on setting realistic expectations.

I do believe if the person is nice enough to tell u that he/she is not interested with you.

❣️Be emotionally strong

This is very hard for me especially as I am quite an emotional person.

If a guy is nice, sweet and take the time to know me, I will be invested in the person.

So you will need to be emotionally strong when you talk to your dates.

Take time to get to know someone and if needed, take a break from dating app.
