There are a lot of popular recipes I change to fit my needs as well as for health purposes. There are good substitutes for common ingredients that just make your favorite treats a little healthier!

Applesauce:

🍎Applesauce is a very good binding agent, especially when it comes to baked goods. It is commonly used to replace oil in a lot of different recipes because it is low calorie & it gives some extra moisture to your products. Applesauce is also sometimes used to replace eggs as well!

Coconut Oil:

🥥Coconut oil is also another infamous substitute used to replace other ingredients such as butter, olive oil, or vegetable oil. It acts in a similar way to butter and creates a fluffy texture when mixed with sugar. In recent studies, there has been evidence that coconut oil may have different biochemical effects on the body than ingredients such as butter, and can lead to better cardiovascular health.

Dark Chocolate Chips:

🍫I know dark chocolate is not everyone's personal favorite but there are a lot better health benefits in comparison to using milk chocolate. It is lower in fat and sugar content in comparison to milk chocolate, and it is considered more heart-healthy. Dark chocolate also contains something called Flavanols, which are antioxidants that help lower the risk of heart disease.
