As a Fangirl… I Can’t Stand This

I’m a fangirl when it comes to many different areas of my life - whether that’s with book series, tv shows, movies, Taylor Swift… It's fun.

The thing is: people should be allowed to celebrate their youthful joys, and should be able to celebrate those youthful joys with others when they find like-minded friends. And it seems like anytime there’s a fanbase that gets popularized, whether that be Fourth Wing or Swifties, for recent examples, there’s the ever-present belittling. And. I. Can’t. Stand. It.

Let people enjoy things. Let people have fun. Don’t single them out, don’t invalidate their emotions, don’t smother the things that you don’t know how helpful they might be to them.

If you’re reading this, I hope you have some sort of hobby or fandom that makes you feel like a kid again, and I hope you’re able to find others who love it too, and I hope it brings you joy. And I’d love to know, if so - what is it?
