Assistant to the Villain - Worth the Read?

Okay, so this may be an unpopular opinion, be warned. 😉

I was SO excited to read Assistant to the Villain. It sounded like so much fun, I thought it was going to perfectly kick off my spooky season reading, and I couldn’t waaaait.

And here’s the thing: it wasn’t bad! It’s lighthearted, it’s goofy, and it’s silly. Which just, honestly, wasn’t the vibe it seemed to be marketed as. So, the truth is absolutely NONE of those things are bad and may be the EXACT reason you want to read it and love it, and if so I absolutely love that for you. 🫶🏼

So no, I don’t think it’s overhyped - it just wasn’t what I was in the mood to read at the time. So if you’d like a somewhat silly and adventurous, mysterious YA read, you’d love this one!

But unfortunately, it wasn’t what I was looking to read or even my type of book, so it got 2 stars from me.🌟🌟
