My reading wrap-up for February

It was definitely a 4⭐️ reading month for me.

📖With These Last Breaths- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the third in the Aisling Sea trilogy. This series has pirates and fae, some sirens, and takes you on a dangerous adventure to overthrow the rulers. It has plenty of romance and emotion, and anxiety rep.

📖Get a Life, Chloe Brown- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was the Lemon8 Book Club pick for this month. This is a cute and spicy romance between a tenant with a chronic illness and the maintenance guy for the building. After a near death experience, Chloe Brown takes a look at her life and makes a list of things she wants to do. I loved the relationship and dynamics between the two characters.

📖The Family Remains- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the sequel to The Family Upstairs, which I read last year. It did answer some questions I had left over from the first novel and I did enjoy the story, but I felt a little underwhelmed at the end. The plot was thrilling and suspenseful, but was anticlimactic towards the end.

📖The War of Two Queens- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I listened to the majority of this one on audio, but I did read some of the book. I actually loved it on audio and will probably listen to the next in the series. There’s a lot of hate for this series becuase of the info dumps and the repetitive descriptions, but I didn’t notice it as much in the audio format. Anyways, the story was really enjoyable, and the joining! But I will say I almost wanted more from that scene

📖Most of All You- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This novel is very sweet. Almost too sweet. After having read Kyland and Archer’s Voice, I expected a little more gut-wrenching emotion, and this story did have some emotional moments, just not enough to satisfy me. My main complaint is the instant love- it’s not my favorite trope. There are some similarities between this and Archer’s Voice (both MMCs are virgins, both have tragic histories), but the stories are definitely different.

📖Just One Night- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This one was also sweet. Which isn’t a bad thing, it’s just that I’m in the mood for more emotional, sad stories that are going to rip my heart out before putting it back together again. I did enjoy the story and the characters in this novel and would be open to reading more in the series when I’m in the mood for sweet romances. I also listened to this book on audio and I really liked the narrators, Mackenzie Cartwright and Connor Crais.

I’m currently reading an ARC for Love JD by Devon Atwood- it’s the 4th in the Love and Other Jobs Series and is soo good!
