๐ญQ: Whatโs the last book that made you cry?
One thing about me: I love books that make me bawl my eyes out.
At the age of 13 I was reading books like Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, both of which became some of my favorite books of all time. I revisited these books a handful of times in my teens, whenever I needed a good cry, or just wanted to reconnect with my favorite characters. Now Iโm 23, and Iโm still seeking out books that make me cry. Part of the reason I seek books like this out is because they usually hold characters that I come to deeply care and root for. The bigger reason is that these books do such a good job at making you feel what the character feels, and somehow always portray the human experience in a relatable way. Iโm not very good with words, or with vulnerability, so I really appreciate when an author can perfectly describe feelings and thoughts Iโve struggled to.
The books in this list are heartbreaking. They are written by authors whose writing I love, and they are books I always recommend to others. They hold themes like grief and loss, but they also hold themes that scream โto live for the hope of it allโ. Theyโve reminded me that life cannot be without both.
