DON’T do this to your bridesmaids

I was a bridesmaid. Here’s what I learned and what I won’t be doing or requiring of my bridesmaids when I get married:

⭐️Not being transparent and honest about the financial expectation of being in my wedding when asking people to be in my bridal party

⭐️Making my bridesmaids spend more on their dresses than I do on my own wedding dress

⭐️Making my bridesmaids pay for things I want specific to my wedding (“bridesmaids” crew necks, specific manicures, bachelorette party outfits etc.) Note: I have never worn the yellow low top converse, the bachelorette party outfit, or the “bridesmaid” crew neck EVER again

⭐️Plan an expensive bachelorette trip I expect my bridal party to pay for

⭐️Expecting my bridesmaids to get me bridal shower gifts or wedding gifts if I’m requiring them to also pay for all of the aforementioned items

In the end, I LOVE my friend, and she had a BEAUTIFUL wedding. I just wish I knew the financial expectations before agreeing to be in the bridal party. I personally learned a lot from this experience, and I will do things differently when I get married.

Despite the title of this post, everyone is different and has the right to do whatever they want for their wedding! These are just my personal opinions. 🫶🏻
