In a world that’s taught girls to be nice, it’s time for us to learn to be rude in a productive way. I’ve definitely done it the wrong way before so have learned these tricks to help.

Here’s how:

✨Be Assertive: Assertiveness is about establishing what you will and won’t accept. Being direct but respectful at the same time. It often includes validating what their intent may be but offering your disagreement. You can be assertive without being hostile.

Examples include:

🤍”I value your enthusiasm, but I’d like to finish my thought first.”

🤍”I appreciate your input, but I’ll make the final decision. “

🤍”Thanks for your suggestions, but I’m going to trust my own instincts on this one.”

✨Be Witty:

Use clever humor instead of outright insults. A playful jab can convey your point without crossing the line.

Examples include:

🤍If someone questions your taste in music, respond with, "I prefer to call it 'unique,' not 'weird.'"

🤍If someone teases you about being late, you could say, "I'm just fashionably late to my own life—it's part of my charm!”

🤍”Relax? I thought I was auditioning for a role in a drama though!”

✨Know When to Walk Away: Walking away is a form of self-respect. When a conversation becomes unproductive or disrespectful, stepping away reinforces your boundaries.
