My review: Recently, I’ve only been reading romance, but I've been wanting to get into the fantasy world! My friend told me about how much she loved this book, because it was a mix of both genres, so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! The banter between Kai and Paedyn was AMAZING in my opinion, and I just love how they fit so well together. I love how Lauren includes a mix of medieval vibes through the elite and ordinary societies, as well as gladiator vibes through the Purging Trials. I gave it a 4.8 because the ending was so sad 😭! But that makes me SUPER excited to read the sequel Reckless, which comes out July 2nd!! I just bought Powerful which is the mini novella about Adena, Paedyn's best friend, and I’m planning on reading it before Reckless comes out. Overall, I’d recommend this book to anyone who enjoys YA closed-door romance and fantasy worlds with action and plot twists!
