Teacher Tips✏️🍎🫶

This will be my 3rd year teaching middle school! Here’s some tips I’ve learned over the years🥰

•🩷Create a safe space: Students love structure. Coming into a classroom that is clean, calming, and knowing what is expected is SO important especially for kiddos who are new to middle school.

•📚Get organized and STAY organized: this is a tough one… but you will be thanking yourself!! Organization helps not only you but your students!

•👍Stay positive: Teaching can be TOUGH but your students are always watching. Be a positive light in their lives. Be the reason a student smiles today.

•🎨Get creative: I have had multiple students tell me they use to hate social studies… but adding some creative projects can make it fun and exciting!! One of my favorite projects is the “5 senses project”. Kiddos pick a person or object from the crusades and pretend they are that person or object. They then are tasked with writing about what they would see, hear, smell, taste, and feel as that thing.☺️

•🎉Reward hard work: School can be tough for students. Encourage them by having celebrations when they meet goals!

• ⏰Take time for you: As teachers we tend to overwork ourselves. Try your best to keep to contract hours. Do things you love to do! Working out, hiking, being with my family and having relaxing evenings keeps me sane🥰
