San Diego Zoo Safari Park

🌞 Day 2

The safari took a very big chunk out of our day. We got there close to opening time when it wasn’t so hot and we stayed until around 3 or 4.

We started our day doing the uphill part of the park to get it done with. We saw the tigers 🐯 and looked looped around to see the Australian animals 🦘.

It was totally worth it to do the free safari tram and hot air balloon. My kids really wanted to do it and it was around $22 per person. The view was gorgeous!

✨ Pros:

-not too crowded

-good amount of shade, beautiful park

-lots of food stops

-drinks available 🍻

-different from a regular zoo

👀 Cons:

-lots of walking ( bring strollers to save your kids with all the walking)

-prepare for the weather (could be very hot)

We ultimately chose the safari park because it was different than the normal zoo. I wouldn’t recommend doing both the zoo and safari park in one day. Hopefully for our next trip we can visit the SD zoo.
