Hidden Japanese Restaurant in Bishan-AMK Park🌿

ToriYard is a hidden Japanese Restaurant in Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. I recommend making a reservation before heading down and booking indoor seating if you're coming in the afternoon as it can get pretty hot outdoors. My friend and I went in on a Saturday evening, it was pretty crowded but lucky we made a reservation. Here is what we had:

🐟Sake Sashimi (5 slices) $18

Highly recommended!! The salmon sashimi was super fresh, smooth and literally melts in your mouth!! Every slice was super thiccc and definitely worth every penny, though the portion is pretty small

🍢Tori Sasami Kushiyaki (2 skewers) $9

This is a grilled chicken fillet skewer dressed in mentaiko sauce. I would totally recommend this, the skewer was so on point!! The chicken was tender and grilled to perfection

🍗Tori Teriyaki $15

This is grilled chicken boneless leg with teriyaki sauce. The chicken was super tender and juicy, and we love it!! The portion is also pretty big compared to the other dishes here.

🦑Ikayaki $21

This is grilled whole squid with homemade sauce. The homemade sauce tastes like sweet sauce and we would not really recommend this as the squid was slightly overcooked and way too chewy

🐖Kuro Butayaki $21

This is grilled Japanese Black Pork with salt and pepper. My friend had this and she thought it was pretty mediocre, the tori teriyaki was seasoned better and more worth it!

🍤Ebi Kare Raisu $25

This is breaded prawns (3 pieces) curry rice. We thought this is super worth it for the big portion and taste very hearty!

🍜Kaka Udon $16

There is nothing unique about this wheat noodle soup and tastes like any other wheat noodle soup. I was also too full to finish it...but I think it is perfect for rainy weather,

We totally over-ordered and the bill would be less painful if we removed one dish...

Overall, I feel this restaurant is still worth a visit, considering its unique location and a pretty big portion of certain dishes!! The ambience at night is 💯💯💯💯!!!
