Things To Know Before ✈️ to Guatemala..

I absolutely LOVE Guatemala!! I ❤️ it so much, I went TWICE within 2 months of each other. The first time I traveled SOLO for my 30th in Oct, and again for Christmas.

These are 5 things you should know BEFORE visiting.

1. Guatemala is SAFE for Solo travelers. I know many Black women, including myself, who have gone alone & fell in love with it.

2.A negative COVID test within 72hrs OR proof of vaccination is needed prior to boarding.

3. CASH is KING!! Having either USD or converting your money to Quetzals (Kay-zal) will take you far. $1 USD = 7.78

4. Knowing conversational Spanish will be verrrryyyy helpful. However, they are extremely patient and willing to help you. Also feel free to download Google translate.

5. Do not drink the tap water. Many restaurants will offer or sell bottled water.
