An escape from the city - MacRitchie Reservoir 🌿

One of my favourite ways to exercise is to hike at MacRitchie reservoir! It’s fairly easy to walk and there are many different routes to go for. It’s also a great escape from the usual city that we live in.

Some things to note before you hike at MacRitchie:

1. Check the weather before going. You don’t want to be caught in the rain halfway through your hike, and it can get pretty dangerous and slippery.

2. Pack light! Bring only essentials like water, phone, and a towel.

3. Hydrate! Don’t forget to drink water while hiking. In some routes, there are toilets so do not worry.

4. Put on sunblock and wear a cap! Especially if you are walking on the path that is facing the reservoir and sun directly, it can get pretty hot and sunny.

5. If you have never done this before, start out with a shorter route and pace yourself.

I first started out with a short 5km route, before increasing to an 8km route.
