Waig is a Japanese restaurant with a local twist of flavours that left us nothing short of impressive.

Ratings:

Food- 4.9/5

We enjoyed every dish and somehow the marriage of Japanese and local Malaysian flavours just work so well together. However, you may find some dishes to be too overpowering. Personally for me, I felt that the Engawa bowl was too salty that after a few bites the saltiness overpowered the individual unique flavours.

Service- 5/5

We were served by Chef Michael. He was friendly and attentive to cater to our likes & dislikes for certain ingredients.

Ambiance- 5/5

Small but cozy. There’s 2 seating areas, counter and dining room seating. We opt for counter seating and I really like their individual booth seating inspired by Ichiran Ramen in Japan as I felt there’s more privacy.

Price- 5/5

We found the price to be reasonable for what it is.

Will you come back?

Definitely but will keep in mind to request to reduce the saltiness especially for their rice bowls. May wanna try their ala carte menu next time😋
