why offer help to just take it back?

so basically I was no contact with my mother due to it being a toxic relationship and her basically causing me trauma I didn't deserve because I was already struggling but anyway, when we became homeless she said she would help out w 500 a month which I very greatly appreciate(d). as you can see, we are having car troubles. she sent half of the 500 at the beginning of the month and so I wanted to see if she could send some of the other half now or we won't have a car. we have a lot of appointments for our kids and then a social worker to help figure out work and housing. she responded with guilt tripping, which she's done so much of to me growing up, and she's starting again. she makes it clear every time we talk that she only really cares about my kids. I'm not comfortable accepting or asking money from her as is, and this just makes me more uncomfortable. why offer help to essentially just take it back. #ask for help #regretfulparents #embracevulnerability #unfiltered #Lemon8Diary
