part 2: best cdramas ever?? historical edition 🥹😩

HIIIII quick intro about myself i love watching dramas (selectively) since lower pri, started mainland cdramas in 2015 ish~~~

theres a part 1 on my top modern dramas HEREEEEEE

ok lets dive right into the historical edition but before we start, theres gonna be minor to mild spoilers about the dramas soooooo yes LETS GO 

1) word of honor (AKA MY ULT FAV CDRAMA)

if you havent heard or watched this drama, youre missing out. perhaps you may be driven away because it is an bl, legit just think of it as a friendship drama, theyre just good friends and we can just focus on the plot instead 

it talks about 2 guys that knew each other when they were young and then got pretty successful in the martial arts world and then they met again and are trying to figure out who is the other party, whats their identity and before even they find out, they have some incredible ultimate trust in each other. chemistry was just amazing and both the characters 😭😭😭😭😭 

basically word of honor was life changing for me as a fangirl, have never seen this level of chemistry between 2 actors. i love it and i understand it may not be for everyone but i really do wanna say give it a try if you dm 🥹🥹 

i cant find anything bad to say about it... 10/10 😭❤️

2) who rules the world 

this drama got me HOOOKED both leads were clever and the head of their respective areas/organisation and the prince/princess of their country at the same time, OK A LITTLE CLICHE but good plot cause it makes u wanna continue watching heh

great chemistry between actors, good plot, good fighting scenes, satisfying to watch them working together and trying to investigate whos the enemy 🔥

minus points for it being underwhelming when they find out each other's real identity BUT PLUS PLUS POINTS FOR THE COMEDY I LOVE IT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

3) unchained love 

well well well look what we have here, with my limited historical drama experience... i still dare to safely say this is one of the most unique plot ever 🫣🫣🫣 

so the guy issa eunuch and he worked his way up in the palace to be one of the right hand man of the king but turns out hes just replacing his brother cause he wanna investigate and take revenge for him 🥺

GREENNNNNNNNN FLAG TO THE FL i love it i love green flag plots, the romance here is a major green flag, the fl decided to really trust her gut feelings and admit she likes the guy despite him being a eunuch 🥹🥹🥹 this drama is so my taste i really love it eh

happy ending YAY

4) till the end of the moon 

i guess...prepare your tissues first, not even halfway through the drama ull need it already 🫣🫣🫣 honestly they are just playing with my feelings with the amount of misunderstandings but at the same time ull wanna see their romance

ok one thing about this drama is that they only got to TRULY get together at like ep30+++ i forgot exact where but iT WAS A LONG WAIT like they were tgt since early eps but they dont know truly if each other likes each other is like they both thought they got ulterior motive kind, was tough buT SUPER WORTH IT TRUST TRUST 😩😩😩

after i calm down i know this drama is not a 10/10 the supporting actors and actresses were 100% not it for me im sorry i only like the male lead and female lead.... other characters just seem either useless or..... i dont like them

one thing i have to mention is i do see lots of bad comments on this drama so the opinions are two extremes and you may be on either side so i dont say i nvr say ah, i understand not everyone will like 💪💪 

9/10 bc u have to understand bailu luoyunxi chemistry really carried 🫣🔥

5) ashes of love 

part 2 of preparing your tissues... oh gosh this came at me worst than till the end of the moon bc it was my first 仙侠 and legit no warning its going to be so sad.... this was my second historical drama after yanxi so i dont really know what to expect ah and it really hit me so bad LIKE SO BAD 🥲😭

the plot seemed DAMN UNIQUE TO ME back then......HAHAHAHAHAHAHA now thinking abt it i think at least half of the 仙侠 out there has similar plot la.... BUT THE ME BACK THEN first time watch this plot i was overwhelmed by the emotions and sadness and everything 🥴

romance was really painful but the start was very easy and enjoyable and light to watch, then things start to get messed up and things become painful and sad but still nice to watch though.

anw i knew luo yun xi from this drama hes amazing here too, he gained a significant amount of populartiy from ashes of love 😩❤️

6) story of yanxi palace 

my first ever historical cdrama because my father keeeeeeeeeep asking me watch he say vvvvvvvvv nice and it took approx a few months for me to finally agree to watch it. i always had the mindset that you know historical dramas are slow and boring etc, but damn did this one historical drama changed my mind 🙊

fl was clever, both male leads wasnt a red flag, plot was fast paced with some plot twists, good progression and i was literally addicted like what my father told me.

one thing is that i was supporting ying luo and fu heng (a soldier/general)but ying luo, the fl, chose to be with the king even tho i think she lowkey liked fu heng too :(((((((( i mean ya why choose the soldier if you can have the king right but DKSFJHALDKFHAKL they were so much cuter haiz 🥲

i know this is my second post of recommending dramas and with sky high ratings, but no not every drama i watched has these high of a rating, i truly think these dramas are a work of art and there are alot of dramas i think is very subpar, probably will mention them in the future~
