I Snuck A Camera Into A Concert 🤫 Worth It?

I’m pretty sure it’s a universal rule that professional cameras are not allowed in concert venues. But I’ve been seeing people bringing in compact/disposable cameras on TikTok and wondered if this could be a loophole 🤔

I gave it a shot to see if bringing in a camera other than your phone is worth the risk. I mean, what can the iPhone NOT do? As someone who is active in the K-Pop scene, I’ve heard stories of how fansite masters hide their equipment in the craziest parts of their bodies otherwise they may be denied entry or have their items disposed of.

I honestly cannot bring myself to do that so, I just dumped my compact camera in one of my cargo pants pocket that was pretty down to my shoes. I kept myself ready to dispose the camera in the event I got caught.

I attended PH-1’s concert at the Capitol Theatre and to my surprise, I didn’t get checked??? 😲 I’m not sure if this a normal thing in this venue but ⚠️a disclaimer that it doesn’t mean it would be the same elsewhere. I’m sure bigger venues like the national stadium would be stricter with their procedures⚠️

🪩During The Show🪩

Some challenges faced would have to be the lighting and movement. Since all I had was a budget compact camera, it didn’t have the settings suited for an event like this.

Most of my shots came out blurry due to the slow shutter speed. I had to turn on my flash ⚡️ for every shot I took which made me feel super conscious as I didn’t want to hurt the artist’s eyes 😢

I also felt too distracted having another camera on hand and wasn’t able to enjoy the moment in the beginning. That’s when I decided to just ditch the compact camera and went back to my phone instead.

So, should you bring another camera in❓

Unless you can find a compact camera with a fast enough shutter, using your phone would honestly be a better option.

And though a disposable/digi/compact camera may not be considered “professional” thus creating a loophole in the rules, having an additional camera on hand feels more like an additional burden to ensure you don’t lose both your phone and the camera.

If you still feel like it’s worth trying, I’d say do it at your own risk ⛔️ Where I hid my camera is definitely not a safe place 🤡

As much as we love to keep these memories in a tangible form, the best moments are when you’re not recording everything but rather just being in the moment 😌
