What started an absolute catastrophe 🌪️turned out to be so heartwarming. 💗

When i became pregnant I told my close friends who immediately volunteered to throw my baby shower. I was told to send inspiration photos and basically “set it and forget it.”

I ended up rescheduling the shower when hurricane Beryl ripped through Houston. Many of us were left without power, water , and operating vehicles. We had to change everything‼️ This meant that I had to throw the shower at my apartment with no furniture.

I was told that rest assured things would still be great.

The day before I called to check on the progress and to make sure my friend understood the space that we’re working with. She decided she was going to come and scope the space and start set up.

RUDE AWAKENING 🫣😣

What was supposed to be 🏝️ Beachy Boho themed was 🐆Jungle themed 😳.

Imagine my surprise and uncomfortable reaction as I explained that EVERYTHING was absolutely wrong.

Not only that but there was roughly 20 balloons that came in the pack and she admitted that her backdrop didn’t come in time so she threw something together.

As grateful as I was for the effort and money that went into it,I couldn’t help but assume that she was unprepared. After letting her know how i felt we regrouped and started shopping for decorations together.

We called back up trying to find the correct colors an arch and learning how to hang the balloons. We traveled across town to no avail and parted ways at odds.

This left me Sleeping majority of the next morning depressingly not knowing what the day would bring when I didn’t hear from my friend.

The party was set to start at 3 and I had no communication from my friend until around 12/1.

She came in and told me to spend two hours doing my hair and makeup.

I stepped out to a beautiful orchestration of balloons, decorations ,fruit and gifts.

My heart was filled. I felt so out of place being the center of attention but also so full of joy. 🥹
