Hi guys, my name is Laura. I wanted to share with you my weight loss journey as a personal trainer and nutrition coach. Like many people, I had struggled with my weight for years. At a very young age I developed an eating disorder. I tried every diet out there and went through years of going in circles to get results. Until I was introduced to the gym in 2016.

I started to do weights and less cardio. Learned about counting macros and I started to see my body transform. I became so obsessed with the gym that I even got certified as a trainer.

Fast forward to jan 2021 I had a traumatic experience happen and I lost all motivation. I ended up gaining 15 lbs in less than a month..

So I’m going to share the 10 things I did to lose 15 lbs and keep the weight off for good. These tips have not only helped me but many of my clients!

1. Setting small goals and habits. (This was vital for me because I had 0 motivation to do anything and needed to be clear on my why)

2. Eat a healthy balanced whole food diet (Prioritizing a high protein Whole Food diet. I cut back on highly processed foods and sugars)

3. Exercise and daily movement (Worked out 4-5 days a week and did 10-12 k steps every single day! On the days I didn’t get my steps in I would do 20-30 minute cardio post workout. I needed to get daily movement in.)

4. Prioritized sleep (Lack of sleep can disrupt hormones that regulate hunger and metabolism, which can make it hard to lose weight. A lot of the days I wanted to binge was because I didn’t get enough sleep and my body was craving sugar.)

5. Drank a minimum of a gallon a water a day! (Kept me hydrated)

6. Stopped my chronic snacking! (I prioritized full meals instead of constantly snacking every 2 hours- which can spike up your insulin!)

7. Vitamins- (I was suffering with my gut health so I took a prebiotic, probiotic, magnesium, vitamin d3, vitamin c, psyllium husk, Omegas with high DHA and EPA levels, B-Complex, Moringa Powder.)

8. Supplements- Every morning would take 1 tbsp of ACV with glass of water on empty stomach, Organic Green tea pill or tea for natural energy, Oxyshred NON STIM pre workout before workouts, Collagen powder, L’carnitine before my cardio.

9. Meal Prepped. Having my meals planned out helped me prioritize healthy foods and not reach for unhealthy options or uber eats.

10. Pray, Meditated and journaled… This is probably top 3 on the list. I was going through horrible depression and didn’t care to take care of myself anymore. Praying, journalling and meditating daily helped me not feel alone, helped with cancelling some of the crazy noise in my head and honestly gave me a purpose to live again.

As someone who has struggled with weight loss, I understand how challenging it can be to make lasting changes. But I also know that it's totally possible to overcome those challenges and achieve your fitness goals.
