I know I haven’t really spoken abt this before but I used to have HORRIBLE skin. I’ve always struggled with acne during puberty and at one point it really got a lot worse 🥲.
So when I was a teen, I used to have many blackheads and pimples (the ones with pus and are kinda small) since I had oily skin. But as I grew up, I realized that I had started to develop cystic acne (the ones that would bleed) and also deep acne nodules.
It got so bad to the point where I had to consume accutane (this is a v strong drug and has to be prescribed by a dermatologist) but I really didn’t wanna depend on it bc it can be quite damaging to ur health in the long run…
By some miracle of god I found the PERFECT skincare routine for me:
1️⃣ Innisfree volcanic mud mask
This REALLY works. Whenever I feel like my pores are more clogged up, I use this immediately and feel like my face is a lot cleaner. A few weeks before my period, I use this abt 3 times a week.
2️⃣ The ordinary’s Niacinamide
This is my holy grail and somehow, it really manages to get to the root of my acne nodules. Whenever I feel like I’m developing an acne nodule, I use it and it shrinks considerably the next day.
I also use it with the AHA BHA solution for a few days and it disappears!!!
3️⃣ Differin gel
Also prescribed so I use this whenever I start developing acne nodules/ smaller pimples. If I use niacinamide and the AHA BHA solution, I will put this on the next day instead.
JUST A PSA THOUGH, that this can cause chemical burns or cause your skin to peel excessively if you have sensitive skin. Would not recommend this if you have sensitive skin!!
But my skin’s very resistant to other topical drugs so I think this works for me:
