Studying from home made controlling my diet really easy as I was able to make any dish I wanted.

After entering the corporate world a year ago, I realised how difficult it is to think of food places where I can eat healthier meals and to hit my protein count. 🥲😞

➡️ Here’s a list of food reccos that I have curated over the past year of working in Orchard!

1️⃣ HAAKON Superfoods and Juice

Haakon has some outlets in town and the one I frequent is their 313 Somerset outlet. You can DIY your own bowl and mix and match their ingredients. My favourite base is their curry cauliflower rice because it’s something unique & low in calories!

You can total up your calories and macros with their nutrition info sheet too!

2️⃣ Subway

Surprisingly Subway was difficult to find for me in town but there is an outlet in Far East Plaza! Subway also has their own nutrition fact sheet and I usually go for chicken breast in order to hit my protein, but my favourite is their egg mayo.

3️⃣ Poke Theory

I really really love salmon sashimi and wakame, so my go-to sushi fix (but healthier) is Poke Theory! They have an online calculator for your macros and calories too which makes understanding my meals easier.

4️⃣ The Daily Cut (Tanjong Pagar Centre)

Gym goers should be quite familiar with this I suppose?? The Daily Cut offers quite a wide range of protein bases and sauces and yes, they have an online calculator for your macros and calories too. I absolutely love their herb crusted fish fillet!

Virgin Active members also have 10% off so that’s a huge plus 🤤

5️⃣ Starbucks

I wouldn’t have thought of Starbucks when I think of healthy food. But their wraps are amazingly good and my favourite is the meatless wrap. One serving of it may be 576 cals but it serves 38g of protein so it keeps you so FULL. The chicken ham bagel and sriracha chicken are good choices too! Starbucks has their nutritional info stated in their website, though some of the drinks’ info are not available online.

6️⃣ Paris Baguette

Best choice if I’m bloated from the night before! The portion is hefty for the Caesar chicken salad and really delicious. Though I wouldn’t recommend putting too much of the sauce…

7️⃣ Snacks

7-11 chicken breast was my holy grail before protein powder (but I do eat this still, 2x for a light but filling dinner). The chicken breast also comes in many different flavours so you won’t get sick of it so easily.

Cheers sandwiches have their nutritional info stated on the back of it so it makes it easier to choose too! 7-11 sandwiches sadly do not have their calories stated so I’m always less inclined to purchase them.

Last but not least, if your office allows, make your own yogurt bowl! I make my own Greek yogurt bowls (Chobani is the best) with protein peanut butter and honey for breakfast, and I still am not sick of it!
