Controversial Book Review: The Nanny

Idk what to tell y’all but… this goon didn’t deserve the hype, I’m so sorry 🥲

NO SPOILERS in this review!

~ It started out good, interesting story that kept me coming back for more. The author built up the narrative to be intense and exciting.. “what’s gonna happen next??” It kept building and building, you’d never believe what happened… nothing, absolutely nothing.

~ Main issues of the plot that spent half the hook building, solved or fizzled out within 2 pages like it never happened.

~ The story is boring for about 1/4 (maybe pages 300-400) of it then did pick back up in the last quarter, so for that comeback, I give it 2 stars instead of 1.

~ The story as a concept was not bad at all, entertaining even. But the main male character, the father named Aiden, is unrealistic. I get it’s a book and doesn’t have to be real but I didn’t realize I was reading a fantasy (haha a joke about how a nearly perfect man can’t exist in real life).

If you like a book where intensity builds just for it to fizzle out, this is the read for you. If you like a book with no real conflict or plot, this is the read for you. Hope this wasn’t too mean.. :/
