This is my 3rd time renting a kimono and I have to say that this place has the NICEST KIMONO DESIGNS 😭😭😭 I was spoilt for choices and spent soooo long deciding on the kimono and obi (the band around the waist!)…..

The kimono rental shop I went to is called Kimono-REN. They are tourist friendly and the staff are really sweet 🫶🏻 It’s located just a few mins walk away from sensoji temple so it’s super convenient!

If you make a reservation online, you can get ¥1000 off. So i highly recommend doing so! For ladies, they recommend the standard set where you can have your hair done ontop of the kimono rental! For men, I guess a hairdo is not really needed so their available plan would just be the kimono rental. And for couples, you get both at a discounted rate 🤭

Before putting on the kimono, the staff will prompt you to go to the toilet first. Whether or not you feel like you need to go, GO. Cause you can’t go to the toilet when you are in your kimono 😹😹 After you are done, they will help you to put on your garments. It is an experience that you should try if you can!!!

Ladies, yall should be warned that it can be really difficult to move around or walk in the kimono and geta (wooden sandals)… Eating could be uncomfortable too with the obi pressing against your stomach. However, don’t let that stop you from trying out this traditional clothing!!! It makes you feel sooo pretty…. 🥺💌

You can walk around Asakusa or Tokyo Skytree area in your kimono as they are relatively close to one another. Another idea is that you can go to an arcade and take purikura (Japanese photobooth thing)!! You will see lots of Japanese girls doing that hahahaha soooo cute

When you are done, the latest time to return the kimono would be 5pm. So do make sure you get back in time!!!!(Otherwise… additional $$ will be charged)

With that, I hope yall have a great experience and take lots and lots of photos with your kimono!!! This is their website if yall are interested 🤭 ****BTW IM NOT SPONSORED HAHAHA I WISH IT WAS 😭😭😭 but I’m just sharing with yall this place cause I had a great experience with them!
