where to go for live music in nashville

Don’t get me wrong, there are many wonderful and talented musicians that play on Broadway in Nashville and you’re sure to enjoy the music wherever you stumble into…

HOWEVER

There are so many other music venues off the main tourist trail that (imo) are better options to really experience live music in Nashville.

There are few other places that bring you closer to the music than Nashville, and I cannot in good conscience allow you to go to Nashville without experiencing a writers round or a showcase of country music’s next stars.

My top spots for live music in Nashville:

📍The Listening Room Listening Room Cafe - Nashville

Writers rounds with a focus on the music (no background noise).

📍Whiskey Jam

Free concert series showcasing up and coming artists. Most Mondays & Thursdays with occasional special events. Try to catch their outdoor series in the summer if you can!

📍Bluebird Cafe The Bluebird Cafe

Unassuming venue in a strip mall off the beaten path where you will literally sit right next to the artists (the venue is that small!). Writers rounds and stage format. BOOK IN ADVANCE! Tickets usually go on sale a week before the show and sell out in minutes.
