In a food processor add:
2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 1.5 Tsp baking powder, 1/2 Tsp salt & 1/2 cup cold butter cut up, and pulse until butter is broken up. You then will slowly add (more like trickle) 1/2 cup of heavy cream, and 2 Tsp of Almond Extract and process until it forms a dough. Take out onto a floured surface and split into 2-3 parts and make thick “disks” with each. Cut into 6 triangles per disk and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, and bake at 375° for 18 minutes.
Glaze/Frosting:
In a separate bowl (forgive my eye ballin’ ways) add some powdered sugar, more heavy cream, a Tsp of the almond extract and a vanilla bean paste to give the frosting the pretty vanilla “specks” and stir until well combined.
Once scones are done baking, let cool for 15-20 minutes and then add the glaze to the tops and set on a wire rack with a pan underneath. Place an almond slice on each for garnishment if you wish, and enjoy!
*I actually love when these have been in the fridge and the glaze solidifies a little more.
