How we told our son about the NEW baby!

How we introduced our second baby boy to our first.

We followed these steps and lines from family members, doctors and anyone who had an idea!

We were just like everyone else and were scared, nervous and avoided the talk with him about baby.

Although most people waited to tell siblings we wanted our son to know right away.

1. KEEP IT POSITIVE & EXCITING

-keep encouraging baby

-even if I was sick, we always made it fun

2. MAKE IT SPECIAL

-getting first baby a toy or present when telling them

3. RELATE TO THEIR WORLD

-“it can be scary”

-“you will be a great big brother/sister”

-“you are wanted”

-“you can help me change every diaper”

4. TALK ABOUT IT

-“are you excited for baby?”

-“what do you plan on calling sibling?”

5. INCLUDE THEM

-diaper changes

-feeding baby

-changing clothes

-washing baby clothes

6. KEEP THEM BUSY

-walks

-asking them to do “little” tasks

7. REMAIN CONSISTENT WITH SCHEDULES

-this really helped our 3 year old, since we was staying home while I was on maternity leave.
