Parenting is hard…

It’s truly bittersweet. I was really challenged by son tonight. My son whom is 12 y/o and is almost my height. (I’m 5’6 1/2). Not challenged physically but mentally. He’s at the age where he’s smelling himself, being easily influenced and feeling rebellious. We are past the gentle parenting stage. Like long gone lol. The lord really is strategic I tell ya…Tonight, I truly didn’t want to “spare the rod” but in the context of how black people use it, if you know what I mean. Lol (FYI sparing the rod simply means don’t neglect to discipline your child.) My hand is fractured right now, so that was definitely out of the question. Tonight I spoke to my son in a way that only the Holy Spirit could’ve. I truly don’t know how I found the words that I did to get through to him but it was nothing but the Most High God working through me, through the Holy Spirit. I was so amazed at how my son received my words and immediately turned around his behavior. That dramatic switch in him was beautiful to witness because I was witnessing God at work and tonight I truly was able to PHYSICALLY see God’s wonders before my eyes. These Bible verses really helped me out and I encourage every parent who follows Christ, who’s dealing with with difficulties with their children to Pray for them. Read with them.
