a gem that’s not hidden 💎💎💎

the subsequent three posts would be about ll’s birthday !!! planned a day full of activities for her and it was safe to say that she enjoyed every second of it 🥰 however she did give me a budget to prevent me from overspending 😅

i promised her that i would keep lunch below 50 dollars so i brought her to tipo pasta bar @ stamford arts centre for lunch 😇 not a hidden gem anymore because i am sure that everyone knows this place 🤣 been there once before and thought that 2 pastas would definitely be below 50

however i DID NOT know that tipo had lunch sets ??? that’s so value for money fr 🤩 it was 17.90++ for a main and a drink, and 24.90++ for a starter, a main and a drink which allowed me to get more things for 50 dollars hehe

🍅 BRUSCHETTA ($10.90)

when i saw the amount of tomatoes i thought ll might not like it 🤣 however she felt that the tomatoes were super fragrant and did not have the “raw” taste that she dislikes so that’s a slay 🤭 i felt that the soft tomatoes presented a nice contrast against the hard toasted bread and the tomatoes were really well marinated with olive oil garlic and basil that i could eat them on their own because it was so fragrant… definitely a slay for this

🍝 PRESTO PESTO ($22.90)

ll chose this pasta from the $24.90 lunch set and she liked its creaminess that did not get too surfeited for her 🥳 the smoked salmon was great too when eaten together with the pasta

🍝 CLASSY CARBONARA ($19.90)

i chose this from the $17.90 lunch set because i love super creamy pastas… this definitely did not disappoint me 😋 the sous vide egg added to its creaminess and i love smoked duck !!! a bowl of happiness for me hehe

🍹 PEACH VANILLA ($7.90) & STRAWBERRY BASIL ($7.90)

birthday girl got to choose both drinks and they were both amazing with a nice amount of peach and strawberry syrup 🤗 i liked the peach drink more and ll liked the strawberry drink more so you can probably tell that the peach drink is sweeter 😅

the amount of money we saved from the lunch sets is insane, and it left us so full after the meal hehe

it was interesting that their pastas were flavoured, like curry sriracha and nori but honestly because both our pastas were creamy ones the flavours become obscured but it was a cool concept 😎 we went with the curry and nori ones btw

might wanna avoid the birds eye chilli if you don’t want your pasta to be too spicy 😟 but chilli flakes are fine and according to ll apparently it helps to make the creaminess more bearable which was a cool piece of information

we visited on a thursday lunch and the restaurant was half empty, so we got treated to a rather peaceful ambience 😇, and we enjoyed a spectacular meal to start off a wonderful day ahead 🤤
