Grocery Budget Tips!

These are a few Grocery shopping swaps I do now that I’m at home! And it’s a lot less waste, so also environment friendly!🫶🏻

1. No paper towels- I just can’t get myself to pay for paper towels, I have so many dish towels and it just seems unnecessary for me. We buy napkins for birthday parties when we have a lot of people over, but I mean I’m gonna have to do laundry anyways.

2. I buy large quantities of dry ingredients- beans, rice, flour, sugar. It’s less waste, and I can just can them up in smaller portions so I don’t have to drag it all out when I’m using them!

3. Dawn dish soap. Stuff is amazing.😂 I clean my bathrooms and counters regularly so I just use dish soap! I mean, if it cleans what your food sits on- it should be good enough to clean what your tush sits on. Lol I also keep bleach- but the millions of chemicals some buy, I just feel it’s unnecessary. My typical cleaning products are Dawn, a disinfectant spray, bleach and vinegar. We have wax warmers and candles for the smelly good stuff!

4. I make our snacks- You can spend SO MUCH money on snacks. Mini muffins prepackaged is like $6 for the same amount I can make at home for $1.🫣 Not to mention the amount of waste from the packaging.

5. Breads- same as snack food, frozen rolls costs a lot when I can make some at home and them taste 10X better.🫠

6. Gardening. Don’t get me wrong, the initial starting a garden can be costly. BUT in the long run- you have fresh food, and what you have excess of can be canned to save for later! I’m going to be making salsa, tomato sauce, have salads, pickles. It’s a reward to eat food you’ve grown yourself, just trust me.🫶🏻
