Why the Carolina Balloon Festival is a Must-See!!

I have been living here for over 15 years and absolutely no one told me about the ANNUAL Hot air balloon festival just 45 mins outside of Charlotte, NC. It’s a weekend event featuring hundreds of Hot air balloons, live music, food, fun for kids, marketplace for shopping and a wine & beer garden.

Bring some chairs, blankets, and umbrellas because it is an open field and the sun was beaming on such a beautiful day. We hung out and lounged around while the kids played on bounce houses & obstacle courses. There was even a “walk inside a hot air balloon” attraction which I found to be a very cool experience.

Watching the field fill up with colors & shapes in the blink of a eye was so magical and y’all should know by now how much we love magic in my household. I highly recommend attending and I’m sure it will be a fall family tradition for my squad.

Tickets were $12 for adults 13 & up. Kids 7-12: $10 & Kids 6 & under are free. VIP parking was the most convenient and a short walk to the festival. Some stalls were cash only but most of them took Apple-pay and Tap. It was a pretty inexpensive outting but if you have kids, does an inexpensive outting even exist? Of course they want everything and want to do everything but it was win because it got them outside, off electronics, and the wonder on their faces?😩😍 PRICELESS!
