Blind Buying Books - How I Decide

I get a lot of questions when I mention that I like to blind buy books. You might be wondering, if I’m just buying books blindly how will I know if I’ll even like them? Or, maybe, how do I even decide on what books to buy. Well, let me tell you!

I don’t have a particular “rule set”, but being that I’ve read SO MANY books, I do have a lot of authors that I like and I tend to know what genres work well for me. It also helps that I read so many different types of books. Now when it comes to genres and sub-genres, here are the ones I read the most:

❤️‍🔥Romance - Rom-Com, Dark Romance, Mafia Romance, Romantasy, Sports

🐉 Fantasy - Vampires, Witches, Dragons, etc.

📚Thrillers - Mysteries, Suspense, True Crime

⛰️History - Roman Empire, Egypt, U.S. Presidents, Widely Known Dictators

💕Young Adult - Rom-Com, Fantasy, Disney

Keep in mind, those are just SOME. I’ll read anything from a Disney villain story to a dark stalker romance. Vampires, dragons, werewolves, sign me up. Cowboys, murder mysteries, Vikings? I’m there. Even though I read a lot of spice, it’s not a requirement for me to enjoy a book.

Besides genres I go by authors, similar authors that might have been suggested to me, and following those on social media with similar book tastes to mine. Before you ask, yes, I’ll even read books that don’t get the best reviews or that aren’t popular. So far, I haven’t let myself down yet!
