Would you try this Halal Thai Steamboat Buffet?!

Went down to try out the First Halal Thai Steamboat in Singapore at Berseh Food Centre for dinner with my brother 😋. We were intrigued by the piece of beef fat used to coat the pan, somehow it could help to remove the char on the pan and you don’t really get the charred bits stuck to your meat towards the end 🤭.

We ordered the all-you-can-eat buffet (S$22 per pax) which includes a variety of meat balls, marinated meats, vegetables and other munchies. It is quite affordable considering the portions and suitable for gatherings with friends and family. Seafood is not included but you can order it separately as you wish. You can also choose from 2 different soup bases such as Chicken broth or top up S$2 for the Tom Yum broth.

We enjoyed the Tom Yum broth where you can refill from the jug on your own and you can also top up the chilli sauces! The thicker red sauce tasted like Suki sauce which was sweeter and the other sauce was more vinegary and both went well with the meats 🌶️.

The marinated meats were tasty and we especially loved the Garlic Chicken and Beef Tongue 😋 which didn’t really have a strong gamey taste.

The Thai Otah Balls were interestingly yummy! It tasted a little like the Thai fish cakes ✨ The Crab Balls were also delicious with the Tom Yum broth and not forgetting to add instant noodles to wrap up a hearty steamboat meal!

Considering that it is located in a hawker centre, we were surprised that it wasn’t stuffy at all and was quite cooling. Maybe the rainy weather helped but we didn’t perspire a bit!

We had a really filling and enjoyable dinner and will be back with our friends when the craving for Thai Steamboat hits.
