✨Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire

✴️Verdict: (10/10) ❗SPOILER ALERT❗

I'm a fan of action movies (plus the outer space setup is a major bonus point) so I have quite a high expectation and it did not disappoint! I find that the flow from one scene to another is seamless without dwelling too much on one scene and can be a bore and stale at one point. And that plot twist of betrayal at the end was unexpected! I thought Kai was all aboard the rebellion ship but in the end it was all about sustenance and survival. CGI is also on point or else I'll lose interest if they seemed "faked" or try hard or budget movie much. Also bonus points for the absence of s*x scenes which has become a staple in movies/series nowadays though a lot of innuendos are included.

✴️Vedict: 8/10 ❗SPOILER ALERT❗

The movie started out okay, I got that relaxed and relieved juju for having Noble killed, or so Kora thought. Then the movie paced slower especially when the rebels gathered at the dinner table and talked about their pasts and regrets. I know that's a necessary scene to understand their POV and as a build-up for their desperation to win the war but that 'calm-before-the-storm' speed got me checking on my phone now and then. But hey, it was worth the wait! The determination, courage and resilience of the rebel troops gives me the goosebumps. I love how they came up with Plan A, B, C and so on with little resources that they had. A happy ending deserved 👏🏻 Minus points:

1- There is a scene where Noble was bu*t nak*d which for me is unnecessary for the story line.

2 - There's a s*x scene! I just skipped through that part. So unnecessary. There are so many ways that Kora can open up to Gunnar emotionally in a completely "clothed" setup.

3 - I HATE seeing the "EYE" everywhere.

4 - Why Nemesis is killed off though? 😭 I want more of her and her story!

Overall they are great movies for action junkies like me. Kind of reminded me of 'The 100' series but compacted story lines into two part movies. Hopefully there will be a part 3 announced by Netflix soon!
