A Letter To My Baby

These are things I am going to miss.

I do not want the day to come that I no longer look down and see little pieces of you frozen in time where ever I look. Already I look at you and see how much you’ve grown, slow down just a little? It’ll do no good to ask, but I know for me, you’d do it if you could. Each night I lie awake, looking at you, trying to memorize each tiny little feature so I never forget, yet you’ve already changed so much. I’d capture every second, so I could play it over when I am old; I guess that is the beauty of it, you only see it once, each smile, laugh, new sound, your wobbly little legs, your tiny hands that reach for mine, our little finger kisses. Each morning I arise to a new face, the same yet changed, just a little. I dare not blink, for I can’t loose a minute. For you my dear, there is nothing I would not do. Of you I only ask, do not ever harden your heart, for you may grown taller than I, but your spirit must never change, for you my dear will always be my baby and I will always be your momma.
