not notability, not goodnotes...

I am back with another study content post because I've been slaving away... # redemptionsem

so I actually bought notability and goodnotes few years back, and also used onenote! What I do is that I use notability for planning schedules, sketching for SOK and things because somehow I write neater there (like their pens and stuff r somehow smoother)

and I use goodnotes for reading lecture slides and taking lecture notes,

while I use onenote for doing tutorials, test papers and study notes like mindmaps.

Honestly I can just use one app for all, but since I paid for notability and goodnotes and I have a free microsoft account linked to my school, I decided to just utilise them!

WHY ONENOTE?

INFINITE page size.

this one is a big W for me. I disliked goodnotes and notability because I have to compromise my handwriting size/ paste digital post its on the lecture slides when I am annotating/ making side notes. Adding on to them whenever I want to will be hard because the size is limited to whatever size my lecture slides was. With onenote, I can just write freely and my paper will just keep expanding LOL I do not have to compromise on anything!! I can write SOO MUCH on top of just the lecture material itself.

Making notes like drawing out mindmaps etc is also much easier, I do not have to decrease the size of my notes at all/ worry about space. Adding on to my current notes (I do this all the time when im reviewing tutorials/ test papers) is also fuss free ⭐️

Print outs of your materials can be put in the same page as well, so its very convenient when I do tutorials! I do not have to switch tabs/ put two tabs side by side to refer to the material since it is in the same space. u can move it away anytime u want as well!

The space in onenote is very organised as well. It is organised by books, sections, and then page. Slightly different from notability and goodnotes, but I love it like that 🤭

You can also work on the same pdf with other people via sharing link, though it takes awhile to sync! This is good for me bc I dont have icloud storage space anymore, preventing me from being able to use goodnotes' share functions. I use onenote on my macbook occasionally, when I need to type alot instead of writing on my Ipad so its very helpful 👍

One thing is that you'll have to save all your stuff externally before your microsoft account gets terminated (if you're using your free school account, but graduating!) which may be a big turn off for some people. Its fine for me tbh I just email all documents to myself!
