What Two Years of Marriage Has Taught Me

Marriage is…. FUN! I beat you thought I was going to say hard, didn’t you!

Yes, marriage can be hard, but it can be fun too (but I’m a naive newlywed who doesn’t know anything). My husband and I got married a little over two years ago and I like to think I’ve learned a thing or two about marriage since then. So here’s my two cents on how to keep a marriage fun!

💛Do the little things: Always be looking for ways to serve your partner in small ways.Whether that’s doing the dishes so they don’t have to, saving the last Reese’s (my husband did this for me last night 🥰), or making their lunch during a busy work week. Small things add up and let them know you care.

💛Be intentional: Don’t fall into the trap of becoming roommates. Be intentional about spending time together and having fun. Whether that’s going on a trip or going grocery shopping together.

💛 Be friends first: Hopefully you started your relationship as friends, but it’s important to keep it that way! Marriage is serious business, but that doesn’t mean you can’t (or shouldn’t) have fun with it. Laugh together, have inside jokes, and poke fun at one another. You are friends first!
