The Red Flat

♥️ superduper interesting! highlight of sofia tbh for me!

♥️ to see how a family’s life was like during communist era bulgaria, and the stuff from their era was preserved & arranged very casually

♥️ we were able to interact w the items which was rly vv nice!! to open and close the cupboards, flip through the books etc

♥️ really opened my eyes to how normal ish life was like then for them & how it wasnt like a whole ass riot everyday HAHAHAHHAA

♥️ audio guide was so interesting and informative as well!!

♥️ pre-buy tix in advance cos they get sold out pretty quick!

Vitosha Boulevard

🛍️ really bustling shopping/cafe street w a view of the mountains, super nice vibes & alw bustling with people so it’s generally quite nice!!

St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

⛪️ really big!! & the classic balkan church vibes w the gold plating and gold detailing, the old frescos

⛪️ we went in during some session so we could see the priest blessing (?) some people idk

Central Baths Square

💐 nice fountain & view of the history museum! got chairs for you to sit around & just chill which all the locals are always doing LOLOL

Eagles Bridge

🌉 a bridge,,, with eagle statues on the top…

Lions Bridge

🌁 a bridge,,, with lion statues on the top…

National Palace of Culture (NPC)

⚡️ in front of it is a really nice garden w a fountain (as usual) & lots of flowers! very well kept.

⚡️ as usual a lot of benches here

⚡️ a TONNN of locals cos idt this is a touristy area so come here to feel the local vibe LMAOOO

Cathedral of Saint Nedelya

Ancient Serdika

🏛️ roman ruins! supercool cos dated all the way back to 4-6th century which is so long agooo

Hadjidraganov's Cellars

🍗 expensive, but really really yummy!

🍗 loved the decor of the place as well!

🍗 had the chicken kebab w cheese and potatoes and ajvar and coleslaw, then the lemonade! lemonade in bulgaria tastes more honey-y than lemon-y

Divaka

🍲 cheaper bulgarian food in general!

🍲 wasnt hungry so i got the panagurski eggs, which is poached eggs in yoghurt sauce & crumbly cheese! very rich & v interesting! then had the mascaporne n biscuit dessert which was extremely rich as well & i cldnt finish

🍲 lemonade was as usual more honey-y than lemon-y, being in bulgaria made me like honey water more GAHAHAHA

venture beyond western europe & do a balkans tour ~ the balkans are really a very nice place w very friendly locals ♥️🫶 hope this helped in itinerary planning or putting Bulgaria 🇧🇬 on the travel bucketlist for other Singaporeans!
