I made the mistake as a gym beginner of believing way too many myths floating about online!

So i’ve made this to ensure you don’t do the same with these widely spread myths!

*Creatine makes you gain weight

Creatine is an amino acid which puts water into your muscles. Those that consistently take Creatine may experience weight gain but that is only due to increased muscle mass and water retention on a small scale, and some people may not even experience any water retention.

*you MUST stretch before working out

While this is somewhat true, you need to be very careful about which type of stretching you are doing before working out! For example, static stretching can lead to injury because your cold muscles are being overextended.

On the other hand, dynamic stretching can help maintain and increase range of motion and get blood flowing.

*Intermittent fasting is good for your metabolism

This myth is also partially true! For men fasted cardio and intermittent fasting is fantastic for their bodies. But for women this is one of the worst things we could do to our bodies because we have a completely different set of hormones. This can cause hormonal imbalances due to our monthly cycle fluctuations. Small periods of fasting can be okay, but anything longer than 14 hours can start to impact hormones.
