No idea what to do in SG anymore? Hereโs a BRAND NEW pottery painting studio that you can check out๐ PotteryPlease is located conveniently in Queensway Shopping Centre, and is currently the most affordable local pottery painting option ๐ฏ I loooved my experience so much and I really recommend this activity for a date idea with friends, family, your partner or just with yourself like how I went alone!๐ฝ
Let me run through with you a summary of the process:
1๏ธโฃ ๐๐ฑ๐ธ๐ธ๐ผ๐ฎ ๐๐ธ๐พ๐ป ๐ฝ๐ช๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฎ
The base price for access to paint materials, firing in the kiln and glazing costs $28 which is pre-paid upon booking. Once you reach the studio, you may choose from a variety of tableware such as mugs, plates, trinket dishes, etc. (all of which are priced differently) Hence, there is an additional fee to pay for your tableware of choice starting from $8. I chose a small to medium-sized mug because I felt it was the most practical ๐ค
Once you have a design in mind, just be aware that the wet paint looks VERY DIFFERENT after being fired in the kiln! E.g. the pastel blue paint (No. 4) will turn out like a dark blue, refer to the colour chart on their plate to see how each number will look like in the end.
I mixed No. 12 (White) with just a little bit of No. 4 (Blue) to achieve the very pale sky blue that I wanted in my final product
Using a graphite pencil, sketch the design that you desire~ The pencil markings WILL NOT show up after the item has been fired so fret not if it shows upโผ๏ธ Afterwards, you may use the paintbrushes which come in a variety of sizes to apply the paint, they also have needle-tip squeeze bottles available for you to draw really fine details ๐คฉ
Once youโre done with the design, youโll have to leave it at the studio for about estimated 1-2 weeks+ before going back to collect your final fired & glazed piece. (Theyโre having a huge surge of orders to fulfill right now hence waiting time may take longer than usual!)

My mug is inspired by my recent trip to Hokkaido this summer ๐ฅฐ I painted tiny icons of the little things that made me very happy during my trip there e.g. Japanese wind chimes๐, ikura sushi๐ฃ, a wild fox that i saw๐ฆ & a very cute dog at the local zoo๐ถother things that I drew but are not in the postโs photos are lavender flowers๐ชป, a corn dog๐ญ (from 7/11 it was sooo good), and an onigiri๐!
The inside of the cup is inspired by the famous Hokkaido bird breed- Shima Enaga๐ itโs this really cute fluffy white bird with brown and black feathers and I wanted it to be a part of my mug๐ซถ๐ป
Finally, I ended off my design by writing ๅๆตท้ and my name on the bottom ๐ Do note that youโre NOT supposed to paint the bottom rim of your item a.k.a. Any part that comes into contact with the table!!!!
Would give this experience ๐๐๐๐๐/โญโญโญโญโญ because itโs so special, customisable & affordable๐ฅ The staff are also really friendly & helpful, they suggested I use the big paint brush to splatter paint and achieve that speckled effect in the inside of my cup :โ) <333 HIGHLY RECOMMEND this little cosy studio!!
