Tips for incoming Freshman!!!! (Pt. 1)

coming into college can be scary!! especially as a first year. here are some tips i wish i knew before going into college!

Study- going into college i was notttt prepared for the workload to say the least. i found myself to be very unmotivated because i was behind. stay on top of your studies!! think about how it will pay off in the long run.

Get Involved- there are so many ways to get involved around campus. whether that’s joining a club of your interest, volunteering, or even attending your schools’ games! these are highly recommended as it’ll make your college experience even more enjoyable.

make friends- this can be hard for many people as you’re now surrounded with people who are older than you, from completely different places, and are complete strangers to you! however, the friends you make in college will probably be the best ones you have ever had and even last for a life time. i recommend dorming as many people enjoy it and it also gives you even more opportunity to make friends

Pay attention in class/lecture- make sure you’re paying close attention in class or you’ll severely struggle. make notes, make your notes pretty and neat. make sure you’re highlighting any key topics that the professor may go over. on that note, DO NOT SKIP CLASS!!! speaking from experience, it is sooo tempting to skip class because college is a whole new world of freedom. however, it does become addicting to skip class and your grades WILL suffer because of it. some of your professors may also take your attendance as a grade.
