It has been almost 2.5 years now. 2.5 years that have felt like much more. During these 2.5 years, I’ve learned a lot about military life and I want to share some tips for new military spouses. Navigating military life is hard. Learning how to navigate military life when you’re completely new to it is excruciating sometimes. We’ve had a lot of hard life lessons that we didn’t expect to have. Military life isn’t easy, but when you chose to be with a military member it’s the lifestyle you choose. So, if you’re choosing military life and you’re new to it, here are things that military spouses should know.

1. Learn quickly that their job comes first!

2. Things will very rarely go the way you plan.

3. You will feel alone a lot.

4. Deployment is never easy for anyone.

5. This is their job, but they don’t always want it to be their entire life.
