The “just wait” comments🫠

“Just wait until your baby is here, you’ll never sleep again. Just wait until you have no more time for your spouse. Just wait until your postpartum and your nipples hurt and you can hardly sit down. You think a newborn is tough? Just wait until they turn into a toddler! Just wait until he starts walking and makes your house a total disaster” …& on & on & on.

Why is our instinct to one-up each other with the challenges of motherhood? Why are we constantly comparing and trying to see who’s motherhood trench is the deepest?

I wish I would’ve heard more “Just wait until you hold your baby for the first time. Just wait until you see your husband as a father. Just wait until you see your kids playing together. Just wait until you hear your baby giggle for the first time. Just wait until your heart swells beyond what you can even comprehend for those two babies of yours.”

Just wait, because these tough moments are temporary and it only gets better❤️
