Hi everyone! Here’s my favorite Wattpad reads - queer edition! As someone who’s apart of the community I really like to see diversity in what I read. Sometimes books in general just don’t do it for me. But these books were amazing - the plot, the characters, the smut! Down below you’ll find short summaries for the book as well as my own personal review of them. The author names are in the photos!

• Protecting Selené •

- Summary : When Selené Cortez told her crime boss fiancé that she would rather die than marry him, she meant every word - she just wasn’t expecting him to call her bluff. Now, making his bodyguard, Anya, fall in love with her might just be the only thing that will save her life.

⭐️ : 5 out out of 5

- Review : Absolutely obsessed! I spent my entire day off reading the whole book! There’s supposed to be a sequel in the works and I’m so excited. I fell in love with the characters like they’re real human beings, the smut was top tier and the plot was beautiful! The only thing I’d change was the ending.

• Lead Me Astray •

- Summary : After her death, Aurie Edison awakens in Overlay City, a shadowy world of supernaturals hidden within the ley lines of New Orleans. There, she meets a non-binary Empath named Mys who agrees to help her with her unfinished business, and Detective Zyr, a rogue werewolf investigating the sketchy circumstances surrounding her hit-and-run. A magnetic attraction soon pulls the three of them together - but can they stay out of bed long enough to catch the vampire who may have killed Aurie?

⭐️ : 5 out of 5

- Review : It was my first time reading a book where the love triangle was actually just a love-ship (3 people in a relationship, and no that wasn’t a spoiler because it’s mentioned in the long version of the summary). The smut was the best I’d ever read in a long time and the characters had really good development and were well written. The only thing I’d change is how quick the timeline was, everything happened within a month!

• Human Bait •

- Summary : Eight years into The Infection, a spunky idealist convinces a hardened recluse to help him save humanity.

⭐️ : 4 out of 5

- Review : Reading from the MC’s POV made me feel like I was hearing my bestfriend vent lol (in a good way). I was obsessed with the love interest, he was so well written! The side characters actually had a purpose for being in the book which I really liked, they weren’t just mentioned and forgotten about.

• Bad Moon •

- Summary : Narrowly escaping an attack by wolves, Jaylin Maxwell is driven towards the alluring Quentin Bronx. Together, they unleash the beast inside Jaylin’s heart.

⭐️ : 1000 out of 5

- Review : This was the first boyxboy I’d ever read and it set my expectations so high that every boyxboy I read afterwards - besides 1 or 2 - absolutely disappointed me. The smut was *chef’s kiss*, the characters felt so real that I actually felt empty when the book was over, and the plot was so well thought out because everything connected like a puzzle, it was amazing!

• Kissing Booth •

- Summary : Scar Patterson has everything that a boy could want - good looks, a smoking hot girlfriend, and a full time scholarship to his dream school. In an attempt to raise money for the football team’s new uniforms, Scar hosts a kissing booth at the town’s carnival week. It’s the perfect excuse to kiss beautiful girls and get money at the same time. It couldn’t have been any more of a great idea. Until he’s obligated to kiss a boy.

⭐️ : 3 out of 5

- Review : Anyone who has read on Wattpad in the 2013 - 2016 era knows how cliche most of the stories were and how cringey some of the writing was, for a book that was written in that time period it was actually pretty good. It was the kind of book that, if I was in middle school, I’d read it over and over again. There’s no smut, just detailed kiss scenes and the insinuation of sex but it’s not actually written out which I was happy about because the MC’s are teenagers. All in all, good book!

I hope these recommendations help someone find a really good book! Despite my own personal ratings, they’re good books with phenomenal writing and amazing plots! If you decide to read one or even all of them, let me know what you think!
