My 100 pound weight loss journey

Full transparency moment! During the pandemic, I was pregnant and gained 100lbs. We all know the pandemic was a tough time and I ate my emotions from the unknown and being isolated to protect me and my daughter’s health at the time. I thought it would be easy to go back to my body pre-pregnancy and boy I was wrong. For a year and a half, I worked out, did meal prepping, you name it and lost 15 pounds. I felt miserable, unrecognizable, and didn’t like my post partum weight at all. I then decided to look into weight loss surgery after seeing and hearing success stories that other women shared.

Fast forward to 2024, I’ve lost a little over 100lbs within these last 2 years and very proud of myself. I did have gastric bypass surgery and I know people are going to say, “you too the easy way out”. I have news for you, it wasn’t easy and it’s still not easy. I workout 4-5 times a week to make sure I’m maintaining my weight, and still battle mentally with choosing healthy food choices. It’s a complete lifestyle change.

Here are the things I can say are not easy about this journey:

Recovery w/w/out support: 🗣️ NOT EASY!

Reacclimatizing to life post procedure: 🗣️NOT EASY!

Physical/mental/emotional changes: 🗣️ NOT EASY!

Maintenance: 🗣️ NOT EASY!
