the toughest thing in my relationship 🖤

ME!! MYSELF!! I'm the problem it's me!! LOL

In the early stages of dating my partner, our arguments would escalate SUPER quickly. Small conflicts blew up. Looking back now - while we were definitely still learning how to communicate as a couple, I definitely caused a lot of our conflict! Everytime I would get triggered, I would be soo scared of being left or abandoned that I would try and break up with him first.

Finally, I started going to therapy (not even for relationship stuff, just bc I was having a hard time out of college) and that's when I learned I had anxious attachment! This made SO much sense lol.

By first recognizing, I was able to work on it with my therapist. It also helped me start to overcommunicate with my fiance for my needs, in which he was able to support me!

Also, about a year ago, we also started couples counseling to help give us a space to chat and talk. It's helped us learn how to be better partners :) Now, it's hard to remember the last big fight we've gotten into haha. Like every couple, we still disagree and get annoyed with each other sometimes, but it never explodes anymore!

Healing my own attachment style was the best thing I could do for my relationship :)
