How to get upgrades on SQ & Marriott

I just found a really cool travel deal for those who have Krisflyer Elite Gold or Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite members! Here’s a general breakdown of the mechanics:

For SQ Gold + PPS Members

💡 Get Instant Marriott Gold for 12 months

📈 Get accelerated to Platinum Elite if you stay 10 nights in Marriott in 6 months

- A quick hack is to basically book a cheap Marriott brand (Eg Moxy, Four Points, etc) in Malaysia/Indonesia for around 50/60 SGD/night and book it for 10 nights straight.

Marriott Platinum Elite Benefits (Worth $2495)

For SQ Silver Elite, you can stay 3 nights to get Marriott Silver status. TBH I don’t think this is worth it bc the benefits aren’t great. It might actually be better for you to do a status challenge (hotels usually have it where you have to complete 15 nights in a row to get Platinum status)

Similarly, as the deal is also pretty good for Marriot Platinum Elite Members, but not for Gold Elite.

For Marriott Gold Elite members, I feel like it’s the same as SQ silver. It’s not very worth it and you can try getting your gold status through AMEX instead since the benefits aren’t that great
